Seamless steel pipe refers to the steel pipe made of a whole piece of metal without joints on the surface. According to the production method, it can be divided into hot rolling tube, cold rolling tube, cold drawing tube, 16Mo3 steel application, extrusion tube and spinning tube. According to the shape of the section, it can be divided into two types: circular and irregular. The seamless tube has a maximum diameter of 650 mm (expanding tube) and a minimum diameter of 0.3 mm (capillary tube), which can be divided into thick walled tube and thin walled tube according to the thickness.

The boiler steel is not only required to have good corrosion resistance at low temperature, but also required to have good oxidation resistance at high temperature for components working at high temperature. Especially for the components of superheater and reheater, when they 16mo3 steel application work at high temperature, they are required not easy to be oxidized and peeled. Generally, the development speed of oxidation depth at working temperature is required to be less than 0.1mm/year. The addition of chromium, nickel, aluminum and silicon can improve the oxidation resistance of steel.
