40Cr steel is one of the most widely used steels for mechanical operations. The hardenability of this steel is outstanding, it can be hardened to Ф28 ～ 60mm when water quenching, and Ф15 ～ 40mm when oil quenching. In addition to quenching and tempering treatment, 40Cr steel is also suitable for cyanidation and high frequency quenching treatment. 40Cr steel has good cutting performance. When the hardness is 174 ～ 229HB, the relative machinability is 60%. The steel is suitable for making medium-sized plastic molds.

The most remarkable characteristic of low alloy high strength steel is high strength. In hot rolling or normalizing state, the strength of low alloy high strength steel is generally 30% - 50% higher than that of corresponding carbon engineering structural steel, en standard p295gh steel. When the gas is cut off, cracks will not occur even without preheating. When preheating processing, quenched and tempered steel needs to be processed below the tempering temperature. Superb wear and corrosion resistance: Because it contains alloy elements such as copper and chromium, it has good corrosion resistance, higher hardness, and good wear resistance compared with ordinary steel.

A36 is American Standard ASTM material, SS400 is Japanese Standard JIS g3101 steel material for general structure, Q235 is Chinese standard GB700 material. The limitation of the content of the Mn element differs depending on the thickness of the A36 steel plate, and the A36 steel plate of 20 mm or less does not contain Mn. The en standard p295gh steel, Q235 steel plate has requirements for the contents of C, Si, Mn, S, P and other elements. But SS400 steel plate only requires S and P to be less than 0.050, and no other element requirements.
